This warning light illuminates when the fuel tank level is low, and does not indicate a fault. Vehicles with a diesel engine may experience a loss of engine performance; this is known as Run Out Of Fuel strategy. Eventually the engine may cut out, but the fuel system will still contain a small quantity of fuel. Replenishing the fuel tank (approximately 10 litres minimum) will restore normal engine performance.

The arrow in the warning light indicates the side of the vehicle where the fuel filler is located.
