LOW BATTERY - PLEASE START ENGINE

This warning message is displayed when the charge state of the vehicle battery has fallen below a specific level. This typically occurs when using the entertainment system when the engine is not running. To restore the state of charge to an acceptable level, start the engine and drive the vehicle for a minimum of 30 minutes.

The critical message warning light indicates the high priority status of the warning message.

Handbook Extract

If the instrument panel displays LOW BATTERY - PLEASE START ENGINE, drive the vehicle to allow the battery to recover to an acceptable level. Drive the vehicle for at least 30 minutes in temperatures above 0°C, or at least 60 minutes if the temperatures are below 0°C. If normal system operation is not resumed when the engine is switched back off, the battery may not have been sufficiently charged. If safe to do so, restart the engine. If problems still exist, contact a retailer/authorised repairer.
